Congratulations to DERC’s PhD Josh Nettheim who has successfully completed his PhD. Entitled “The Bruiteur: noise and listening in performance”, Josh received excellent examiner reports. Josh was supervised by Professor Larissa Hjorth and Associate Professor Philip Samartzis. Dr Kelly noted “the candidate should publish the thesis as a monograph. The breadth and depth of the thesis and the candidate’s wide-ranging discussions will make for a relevant and vital future publication.” Professor Hamilton states “The thesis is an insightful, sophisticated and persuasive piece of work. It is trenchantly argued, and its critique is sustained. It is stylishly written and thoughtfully illustrated.”
