Nov 20 & 25: Workshops about Hate Speech

Workshops about Hate Speech
The workshops in November will inaugurate a new project that Centre for Internet and Human Rights is working on together with two organisations: La Red and agitPolska.
During the first two workshops we will try to understand better what hate speech actually is and how it works. How widespread is hate speech in Germany? What can we do against it? What kind of public sphere is conducive to democracy in the Digital Age?
We want to encourage action against hatred and hostility on the internet by producing visual content. We will help participants to acquire critical media and argumentative skills to defend themselves against hate, stereotyping and discrimination in a positive or even funny way. We will try to harness the potential of social media and ‘memes’ to promote tolerance, diversity and democracy.
Join us for the two workshops about hate speech organised by Agit Polska. Workshops are open to anyone and free of charge. We especially encourage young leaders under 27 to register. Workshops will be held in German.
