LagerhausAs part of a successful collaboration between the Institute of Management, Department of Marketing and International Management at the University of Klagenfurt and Unser Lagerhaus Warenhandelsgesellschaft m.b.H., Philipp Hiesel presented his Master’s thesis on digitalisation in agricultural distribution on 11 May.
The study analysed existing processes, digital solutions, and opportunities to further develop customer-focused, efficient workflows. As part of the project, several expert interviews were conducted with staff to consider different perspectives along the customer journey and to gain practical insights. The results show that numerous digital approaches are already in place, but there is also significant potential in greater integration of existing systems, standardisation of processes, and more targeted digital customer communication.
The study provides valuable, practice-oriented recommendations for the strategic advancement of digitalisation in agricultural sales. Both the company and the university concluded by emphasising the significant added value of this collaboration and the importance of close links between academia and industry.
