The Datasphere Initiative is pleased to announce that it has joined the Network of Centers (NoC). Currently coordinated by the Switzerland-based Digital Hub Association the NoC is a collaborative initiative among academic institutions with a focus on interdisciplinary research on the development, social impact, policy implications, and legal issues concerning the Internet.
As a think and do tank that catalyzes meaningful dialogues and co-creates actionable and innovative approaches to respond to data challenges and harness opportunities across borders, the Datasphere Initiative is pleased to join this community of academic research institutions focused on exploring a wide range of important issues concerning the future of the Internet and related technologies.
“We are thankful to the NoC for welcoming us to their community and look forward to collaborating with the diverse disciplines, methodologies, and viewpoints that the institutions in the NoC represent.” said Lorrayne Porciuncula, Executive Director, Datasphere Initiative.
“The NoC looks forward to facilitating relationships between the Datasphere Initiative and the rest of the Centers, who contribute daily to research about the internet and society across the globe,” shared Armando Guio, who currently serves as NoC’s Executive Director.
The NoC collective aims to increase interoperability between participating centers in order to stimulate the creation of new cross-national, cross-disciplinary conversation, debate, teaching, learning, and engagement regarding the most pressing questions around new technologies, social change, and related policy and regulatory developments.
