Das bidt, ein Institut der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, hat dies im Rahmen des „bidt-SZ-Digitalbarometers“ – einer bundesweiten Erhebung zu den digitalen Kompetenzen innerhalb der Bevölkerung – genauer untersucht. Ein Ergebnis: Rund 15 Prozent der Personen in Deutschland nutzen kein Smartphone. Dies betrifft insbesondere ältere und einkommensschwächere Personen.

On 6 February, Professor Elda Brogi took part in a public hearing organised by the Committee on Culture and Education at the European Parliament.

The event brought together experts from academia, civil society organisations and journalists to discuss the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA), a long-awaited legislative proposal aiming at strengthening media pluralism and media freedom in the European Union.

Update: On February 6, 2023, the Wikimedia Foundation was made aware that the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) had been directed to restore access to Wikipedia in Pakistan. Our internal traffic team has confirmed that the traffic on Wikimedia websites from Pakistan has resumed as before. Wikipedia was blocked by the PTA on February 3, 2023.  The people of Pakistan rely on Wikipedia both as a knowledge resource and as a pathway to share their knowledge with others.
