APPLY NOW! Young Scientists Mentoring Programme 2026/27

Gert SteinthalerEarly Career Researchers of the University of Klagenfurt have the opportunity to apply for funding within the scope of the Young Scientists Mentoring Programme 2026/2027 up to and including June 17, 2026.

The Young Scientists Mentoring Programme (YSMP) financially supports one-year mentoring partnerships between early career researchers of the University of Klagenfurt and internationally recognised scholars from foreign universities (or research institutions) as well as any associated research stays. As part of this programme, mentees spend extended periods of time at the host institutions. Furthermore, their mentors are warmly invited to visit the University of Klagenfurt for short-term research stays (e. g. guest lectures).

The focus lies on advancing one’s research project, acquiring knowledge concerning structures, processes and the rules of the game within the sphere of international science, as well as personal career development. Early career researchers are integrated into the respective scientific community at an early stage, resulting in new contacts and cooperation opportunities. In order to plan and execute concrete projects and take the next steps in the academic career, early career researchers can additionally attend career-relevant workshops and coaching sessions.
As part of the YSMP, more than 90 Klagenfurt doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers have had the opportunity to carry out their research under the guidance of mentors from many renowned universities since 2016.
Maximum amount of funding: € 4.000
Application deadline: 17. Juni 2026
