On Monday, 19 October 2026, at 4.00 pm, the University of Klagenfurt’s alumni network is hosting an alumni business tour of the Wietersdorfer Group’s Alpacem cement works. Participants can look forward to an exclusive guided tour of the fully integrated cement works, which has been in operation for 133 years. You will gain first-hand insights into the production of cement and binders and take a look behind the scenes at the production processes of an internationally active industrial company.
At various stops – from the automated POLAB laboratory to the rotary kiln and the control room – you will experience modern cement production up close and gain fascinating insights into innovative technologies and sustainable processes.
A special highlight of the tour is the direct exchange with graduates of the University of Klagenfurt who now hold various roles within the Wietersdorfer Group. They will talk about their career paths and provide practical insights into their day-to-day work:

Students and alumni can make use of a free shuttle bus from the University of Klagenfurt to Wietersdorf. The bus departs at 3.00 pm from the University of Klagenfurt campus. Please indicate whether you require the shuttle bus when registering.
