Ziel der Forschungen ist es, „künstliche“ Gewebe oder sogar organähnliche Gebilde herszustellen. Sie haben das Potenzial, Tierversuche zu ersetzen, die Pharma- und Krebsforschung voranzubringen und krankes oder zerstörtes Gewebe zu regenerieren.
