Nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que le professeur Jean-Frédéric Morin, professeur titulaire à la Faculté de sciences sociales de l’Université Laval, département de science politique, vient d’être nommé Fellow 2022 par la Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Mit ihrem Stiftungsfest erinnert die Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) jedes Jahr an ihre lange Tradition: an die Gründung durch Fürstbischof Johann I. von Egloffstein im Jahr 1402 und an die Erneuerung der Gründung 1582 durch Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn.
Das Fest wurde am 11. Mai 2022 unter Corona-Bedingungen in der Neubaukirche gefeiert – mit nur wenigen Personen vor Ort, mit Livestream im Internet. Eine Aufzeichnung der gut zweistündigen Feier steht auf dem YouTube-Kanal der JMU zur Verfügung.
Dieses Bild war lange erwartet: Es ermöglicht einen Blick auf das massive Objekt, das sich im Zentrum unserer Galaxie – der Milchstraße – befindet und liefert überwältigende Beweise dafür, dass es sich bei dem Objekt tatsächlich um ein Schwarzes Loch handelt. Darüber hinaus präsentiert es wertvolle Hinweise auf die Funktionsweise solcher Giganten, von denen man annimmt, dass sie sich im Zentrum der meisten Galaxien befinden.
