Wie arbeiten Zellen im Normalzustand? Wie verändern sie sich, wenn sie Krankheiten auslösen? Reagieren sie wie gewünscht auf neue Medikamente? Wer im Labor Antworten auf diese – und weitere damit zusammenhängende Fragen – sucht, kommt heutzutage kaum mehr um eine spezielle Technik herum: die Einzelzell-RNA-Sequenzierung, kurz „scRNA-seq“. Diese Technik liefert ein genaues Abbild der Genexpression in einer einzelnen Zelle zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt sowie der damit verbundenen regulatorischen Netzwerke und ermöglicht so Rückschlüsse auf die molekularen Grundlagen der Zellaktivität.

Research shows that access to leadership roles remains limited for women. This perpetuates gender biases and stereotypes through the stories that are chosen to be told, the language that is used, and the way that women are portrayed.

März 2023, wurde dort gemeinsam mit Bayerns Wissenschaftsminister, Markus Blume, das Richtfest für das neue Forschungsgebäude „Center of Polymers for Life“ (CPL) gefeiert. Künftig soll in diesem Gebäude innovative Forschung mit Kunststoffen für medizinische Anwendungen an erster Stelle stehen.

Arguments about different value concepts are a central component of ethical reflection. Arguments are formed to support specific value judgements. The approach to the discussion and negotiation of values is primarily a cognitive one. A strength of cognitive ethical argumentation is, for example, that freedom from contradiction can be presented well, or the deductive validity of a conclusion from the listed premises, etc. The major disadvantage is that it is not possible to make a cognitive argument.
