What career opportunities are available to me after studying mathematics?

On June 8, 2026, speaker Olivia Pfeifer from the Competence Center for Automotive and Industrial Electronics GmbH (KAI) offered an exciting insight as part of the lecture series “Mathematics in Practice.” Olivia Pfeifer studied and earned her doctorate in Klagenfurt and now works as a data scientist at KAI. In her presentation, she clearly demonstrated how mathematics and statistics are used in semiconductor production and research.
Following the lecture, the students took the opportunity to ask questions and engage in personal conversation with Olivia Pfeifer over a light buffet. This provided them with valuable insights into the day-to-day work of a data scientist and helpful tips for entering the professional world.
