aau/Lydia KrömerThe University of Klagenfurt has been taking part in the ‘Kärnten radelt’ campaign for several years and has launched its own initiative under the motto ‘The university gets cycling’. In 2024, participating university members covered an astonishing 38,422.96 kilometres by bike between March and September. Now the cyclists who achieved the highest kilometre results have been rewarded with prizes.
The most diligent cyclist among the participants at the University of Klagenfurt this year was Elmar Lenhart from the Robert-Musil-Institut für Literaturforschung. As the winner of the internal competition organised by the ‘The University gets cycling’ initiative, he won a voucher worth 150 euros from the company Mountainbiker! In addition, prizes donated by ‘Kärnten radelt’ on the occasion of the university’s win in the ‘Universitäten/Hochschulen’ category were awarded to the best three cyclists:
1st place: Elmar Lenhart – voucher worth 150 € from the company Mountainbiker, functional shirt from ‘Kärnten radelt’
2nd place: Clemens Heuberger – Jaques-Lemans watch, 3 cinema tickets for the film ‘Der automobile Mensch’ at the Volkskino Klagenfurt including free drinks, functional shirt from ‘Kärnten radelt’
3rd place: Andrea Süssenbacher – KTM backpack, 2 cinema tickets for the film ‘Der automobile Mensch’ at the Volkskino Klagenfurt including free drinks, functional shirt from ‘Kärnten radelt’
The University congratulates the winners on their excellent results and would like to thank everyone who made the fantastic total of 38,422.96 kilometres possible with their participation and performance!
The University of Klagenfurt is certified according to the EMAS environmental management system. Climate protection and the preservation of natural resources are declared goals of the university. Cycling to work and study makes a significant contribution to this.
