Verleihung der Salomon Neumann Medaille an Prof. Dr. Gerhard Trabert

Trabert ist Arzt für Allgemeinmedizin/Notfallmedizin, Professor für Sozialmedizin/Sozialpsychiatrie und Buchautor. Er gründete die Vereine „Armut und Gesundheit in Deutschland“ und „Flüsterpost“. 2013 richtete Trabert in Räumlichkeiten der Stadt Mainz die "Ambulanz ohne Grenzen" ein, die wohnungslose Menschen und Patienten ohne Versicherungsschutz kostenfrei medizinisch behandelt. Trabert erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, u.a. das Bundesverdienstkreuz, der Verdienstorden des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz sowie die Paracelsus-Medaille.

Neues Medikament zur Behandlung der Multiplen Sklerose

Ozanimod ist ein sog. Sphingosin-1Phosphat-Rezeptor Modulator. Die Sphingosin- 1-Phosphat- Rezeptoren sind in unterschiedlichen Klassen im gesamten Organismus vertreten, so z.B. auf Lymphozyten, im Reizleitungssystem des Herzens, auf Gliazellen und Neuronen des zentralen Nervensystems. Das oral wirksame Ozaminod zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass es spezifisch mit hoher Affinität an den Sphingosin- 1-Phosphat-Rezeptor 1 und 5 bindet.

Nacht der Wissenschaft 2019 lockte Tausende zum Schadowplatz

Nach 2013 und 2015 wurde die Nacht der Wissenschaft zum nunmehr dritten Mal in Düsseldorf veranstaltet. Initiiert und organisiert wurde sie 2019 von der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU), die auch den Großteil der Themen stellte.
