Moving Towards a Collaborative Internet Governance Ecosystem: Contributions by the Academic Community and Next Steps

Several members of the NoC met on May 22, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey to coordinate our research efforts for examining existing and potential models of distributed collaborative governance aimed at informing the evolution of – and current debate around – the distributed and collaborative Internet governance ecosystem. The work of the NoC will center on a series of case studies; the purpose of the meeting in Istanbul was to identify potential case study topics, and then select those that would enable the NoC to assess innovative approaches to distributed and collaborative Internet governance and build upon the NetMundial Roadmap and the work of various panels and committees, including the report recently released by the Panel on Global Internet Cooperation and Governance Mechanisms.
