Le 29 septembre 2026, plus d’une centaine d’amis, de proches et de collègues du monde entier se sont réunis dans un espace virtuel reliant plusieurs pays et continents. Ils se sont rassemblés pour rendre hommage à la vie, à la vision et à l’héritage durable de Bertrand de La Chapelle, décédé à Paris le 26 août.
On September 29, 2026, over a hundred friends, family members, and global colleagues gathered in a virtual room that stretched across countries and continents. They came together to honor the life, vision, and enduring legacy of Bertrand de La Chapelle following his passing in Paris on August 26. Co-organized by his life partner Ayesha Hassan, the Datasphere Initiative, and the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network, the online gathering provided a warm, open space to hold grief, share laughter, and reflect on a figure whose impact reached every corner of the digital world.
Die Nachricht erreichte ihn in Italien: Georg Nagel (73) erhält in diesem Jahr den Nobelpreis für Medizin. Nagel hat von 2004 bis 2021 als Professor für Molekulare Pflanzenphysiologie am Lehrstuhl für Botanik I am Julius-von-Sachs-Institut des Biozentrums und danach bis Ende Juni 2026 als Seniorprofessor am Physiologischen Institut der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) geforscht und gelehrt.

Online – September 29, 2026. In the rural part of Tanzania, a woman works in an agricultural chain selling her crops to cooperatives on a monthly basis. Those transaction records are not digital, and therefore are invisible to traditional banks. If financial institutions’ scoring models were different, this would unlock formal credit and enable women like her to expand their farms, secure their families’ future and power the growth of their communities.
