„Dass keine hochwertige C‑Band‑Photonenquelle zur Verfügung stand, die auf Abruf arbeitet, war über ein Jahrzehnt hinweg ein zentrales Problem in Quantenoptiklaboren – unsere neue Technologie beseitigt nun dieses Hindernis“, sagt Stefanie Barz, Professorin für Quanteninformation und -technologie an der Universität Stuttgart.

Europe’s Digital Identity Wallet: The Promise, the Problems, and the Questions We’re Not Asking

The EUDI Wallet is coming to Europe by 2026. But while a universal digital identity sounds laudable, the tight schedule and complex architecture suggest a deeper tension. We are at a critical juncture: Is this a foundation for trust, or the quiet assembly of a surveillance apparatus?

1. The Problem we’re trying to solve

Wie genau unkonventionelle Supraleitung entsteht, zählt zu den zentralen Fragen der modernen Festkörperphysik. Eine neue Studie, die in der Fachzeitschrift Nature erschienen ist, liefert hierzu entscheidende Hinweise.
Ein internationales Forschungsteam konnte erstmals eine direkte mikroskopische Verbindung zwischen einem stark korrelierten Normalzustand und der Supraleitung in sogenannten Moiré-Materialien nachweisen. Langfristig können diese Erkenntnisse dazu beitragen, gezielt neue Quantenmaterialien und Supraleiter für künftige Quantentechnologien zu entwickeln.

GENEVA / BARCELONA — As artificial intelligence and digital transformation reshape the global public sector, academic institutions are facing a critical bottleneck: a lack of specialized curricula to train the next generation of public leaders.

“Our research shows that many public policy programs in the US and Europe are failing to prepare their students for a career in a modern, digital-era public sector,” says Pontus Westerberg, Executive Director of Teaching Public Service in the Digital Age.

Drawing on two decades of experience in building and supporting open digital infrastructure, we provide observations and recommendations to advance the EU’s strategic approach to open source, emphasizing its role in enhancing technological sovereignty, security, and competitiveness.
