Raiffeisen Landesbank Kärnten | Caroline KnauderIn the summer term 2025 an investment game was initiated within the „Case Studies in Economics: Fundamentals of Asset Pricing, Finance and Investment“ course by Prof. Martin Wagner in cooperation with the Finance and Iventstment Club at the University of Klagenfurt statt. Using the Investopedia simulator and a virtual seed capital of 1 million USD, the students had to compile a portfolio and deal with securities over a period from mid-April to the beginning of September 2025.

Merna Tohfa, a university assistant at the Department of Networked and Embedded Systems, is developing mathematical models and technologies that enable swarms of drones to scatter tree seeds in areas that may be difficult to access.
There is no shortage of reports highlighting Germany’s and Europe’s serious technological dependencies: social networks, cloud services, artificial intelligence – they are lagging in many areas and in danger of being left behind altogether. The lack of digital sovereignty did not arise suddenly, but in times of intensifying geopolitical conflicts, it now appears threatening. Europe is missing economic opportunities and has no influence on the design of the technologies.
