Syria Bans Online Surveys Amid Fragile Digital Infrastructure

Syria’s new government has banned all online and digital surveys  without prior official approval, according to a decision issued by the Ministry of Communications and Technology on April 10.

Kristina Irion’s research project won the SSH Open Competition M 2024 grant which funds free, curiosity-driven research in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The project will explore the fundamental tension between secrecy claims and transparency needs in the context of EU digital and data legislation.

Internal USI soccer duel

On July 3, 2025, the USI indoor kickers and their selection met a selection of the USI artificial turf kickers at the SV Donau sports field in Kneipgasse. Two 30-minute matches were played in sweltering heat. Nevertheless, both teams gave their all in these conditions. In the end, the indoor footballers were able to celebrate. The match was refereed by (perhaps) future FIFA referee Klaus RISS. You couldn’t tell it was too hot for him. Afterwards, we went to the canteen of the Donau sports club and ended the evening together.
