The Media Change & Innovation Division of the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich analyzes and teaches the characteristics and implications of media change, focusing on the co-evolution of technical, economic, political and social innovations in the convergent communications sector (mass media, telecommunications and the Internet). The driving forces of change and its course of development as well as the consequences and the governance of media change form the center of concern. The Division focuses on the convergence phenomenon, and in particular on the Internet.
